Welcome to the Beginner’s Mind Journal – I’m glad to have you here. If you are feeling lost, stuck, or overwhelmed with your author career, you’re in the right place. The journal is designed to help you learn the basics of business in bite sized pieces, week by week.
Each journal entry functions like a mini-workbook with questions to answer and/or action steps to take in your business. Entries are posted weekly, covering business fundamentals, mindset, and productivity. You can answer the questions publicly on each entry, or you can write them by hand. I prefer to use a dedicated physical journal because I learn best when I take notes by hand. You can follow along week to week, or work your way through the journal in any order you like. There is no wrong way to do it.
Do you remember learning how to drive? In the beginning, I was terrified of getting behind the wheel. Now I don’t even think twice about it. The same level of ease is possible in your author business. It won’t be perfect – nothing is ever perfect – but learning to run a business is a lot less dangerous than learning to drive.
If you have questions as you work through the entries, leave a public comment and I will respond as soon as possible.
If you haven’t already, subscribe to my mailing list to get notified when a new entry is posted.
You can do this. Business is so much easier than writing a book. You just need to master the basics, and that’s why I’m here.
If you’re ready to get in the driver’s seat of your business, comment “I’m ready!” on this entry. I can’t wait to see how far you’ll go.
